BIO:  Are you looking for a cuddle buddy that is just happy to be with you and give and get love? Well Uncle Si is your man. Sadly he came from a puppymill in MO and they didn’t care about his teeth and when AADR did a dental on him he lost all the teeth he had BUT not to worry that doesn’t stop him from eating or giving you kisses and think of the money you’ll save on not having to give him yearly dentals!! We don’t know what happened but he came with a split tongue but it just adds to his sweet face and character.

Uncle Si doesn’t know how to walk on a leash but I’m sure he’d be easy to teach, he loves soft treats!

Uncle Si doesn’t know a strangers, it’s like he’s so glad to be out of the puppmill and he knows that people will be good to him so he’s just so glad to show you how happy he is to be “FREE”.

The holidays are coming and nothing more would make Uncle Si happy than to have a forever home of his own before the end of the year, oh and did we say he’s coming with a 6 mos supply of Heartgard. Apply today and be looking into those sweet eyes in 2-3 weeks!

=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Uncle Si....AR

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
