Rex is a brindle short hair standard dachshund. He is so sweet and would love nothing more than to curl up in your lap. Whenever he cries he wants to either eat or be held. He doesn’t like to be alone and will curl up with his brothers and sister to sleep. He doesn’t mind the bath and will even hold still for his nails to be trimmed. Remember the cartoon character Wimpy that ate all the hamburgers? Well that is Rex… he loves to eat, whether it is his puppy food or nursing from mom. If you are looking for a cuddle bug to warm your heart, this is the puppy for you. Rex will have his second sets of shots by 8/13/08 and will likely be weaned by 10-12 weeks old. Please think about adding this little man to your family.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about REX...PA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
