BIO:  Stephanie is sweet, gentle soul looking for a forever home.  She is docile that both resident cats went right up to her and touched noses.  Stephanie loves hanging out with her foster dog pack and foster parents.  She is very quiet and demure.   She likes to supervise her foster parent’s activities so she follows them around observing their every move.  If you have high blood pressure and need a pet to chill with, she is the perfect dog.  She will sit with you or on you to calm your every nerve.   She loves spending time with her foster dogs so it would be great if she could find a home with another dog.  She wants you to know she does not discriminate.  She is willing to live with other dog breeds. Right now her foster home includes 3 doxies, a Pomeranian, a Yorkshire terrier, Elvis, plus two cats.    She is not food aggressive.  Her foster parents are working with her on housetraining and leash training.  She is crate trained although she really likes to sleep in the big bed.  If she sounds like the dog for you, please take a minute and complete the application.   She really deserves a loving forever home.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

More about Stephanie.....MI

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
