BIO:

Isabell or Bellie as she’s also known by was given up by an owner that fell on hard times. Isabell came to us all the way from KS, along with two of her pack. Bellie is a very sweet girl that deserves the very best. She’s a beautiful long hair with wavy fur that when groomed is beautiful. Bellie loves to be out in the fenced yard so we wish that for Bellie and another dachshund to play with and snuggle with. She’d love to sleep in the big bed with you but a doggie bed is good too but watch out if you are on the couch or your easy chair she’s right there with you sleeping away on her back.

Bellie does really well having a doggie door but she’s moving to another foster home that doesn’t have one so stay turned or e mail the foster mom listed and ask her how she’s doing on her housetraining skills. If you have a connection to Bellie don’t wait too long with her beauty and young age she won’t be with us long.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
