BIO

Hi my name is Tinkerbelle. I want to thank the rescue for saving me from the terrible place that I was living at. My six puppies and I were rescued from a couple that were dog hoarders. I am so happy that my six puppies have either already found there furever home or waiting to go to one. Foster Mom says it is now time for me to find mine and I am very excited about it.

I am a year old and have a lot to learn, the nice lady that is my foster mom said that I am making lots of progress. I had never been outside and I was really scared at first of going out. Now I am potting outside and not having accidents inside, it is still a little scary outside but I am making great progress. I really like for my foster sisters to go out with me, I am not as afraid. I am also learning to walk on a leash and foster mommy said that I am doing really great at this. I still am not real fond of a crate, but as long as you give me a Kong filled with a treat I am fine. I love to sleep in the big bed when I can get away with it, but I will sleep in my doggie bed if I have to. I love to sit in a lap or snuggle really close to my person once I get to know them. It takes me awhile to warm up to a person but once I have I will follow you everywhere. I love to play with my 3 foster sisters, at first I was not real sure about them. Now that I have gotten friendly with them they are great, it would be nice if my furever home had a buddy for me to play with. If not that is okay I will get all the attention. Also my furever home would have to have children that are over 10 since I am so fragile in built, this way I will not get hurt.

I am looking for my furever home, it needs to be a special person that will take the time to work with me and love me. I would have to have a fenced in yard so that I will be safe and protected. Please consider adopting me I will make a really great addition to your family.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
