Update, 8-24-14:
Jackie is growing leaps and bounds in her new Foster home! The longer she is away from her past, the more happy, sweet and loveable she becomes! She must have been a good little Mommy to her pups because she likes to lick and clean the cat’s heads whenever they will let her! She is still a bit shy, but LOVES attention. She cowers a bit when you try to pick her up, but once she is in your arms she is fine. Nothing better in the world than to have a chest rub. If you reach down for her, she does the “stop, drop and roll” for easy access to a chest rub. She will be your lap dog and shadow however, she does like to talk (bark). We are working on this.
Her Foster brother taught her to be comfortable walking on a leash! She is doing great with it! Jackie also goes outside to potty like a champ and does great in the car. At night, she loves to sleep in the big bed and will sleep through the night. She gets along well with all her foster siblings and she loves anyone who will pet her. She is still not sure how to play, we are still working on that too. I am sure in time, when she has a secure and loving furever home of her own, she will be the perfect little doggy.
____________
Jackie came in with 7 other breeder dumps from Boaz AL. She was very shy at first not wanting her temp foster mom to have anything to do with her but as the days passed she became less and less afraid and now after been in foster care for several weeks now she looks forward to getting in foster dads lap and having the attention paid to her that she craves. She is a beautiful girl and deserves a beautiful home to go too. She would do better in a fenced in yard because she’s not comfortable with leash walking yet. She gets along fine with male and females but we don’t know about cats. Small children would make her too uncomfortable so we suggest older at least 10 and up but better if none. She is fine with all the foster moms dogs male and female and is even learning to play a little.
Please know that while she is learning to be a pet she still has a long way to go and we are hoping that whomever adopts her understands that this is not going to be easy for her or you, please have patience and she’ll in time be the pet you want her to be but it’s going to take time for her but she really is worth every minute.
Please help her to be the pet she was meant to be.
