Hello my name is Parker. I am a very good guy. My foster mom adores me. I was not to sure at first, but give me a little time and all I want is love and attention. This is a “crazy house” I am one of two fosters. My foster home has 2 dachshunds of their home, Roxy and Nicholas. Their son has two huge, when I say huge I mean huge Husky's. I want to play, but they don't bother with me much, I guess because I am littler and they don't want to hurt me. Roxy and I play all the time. My foster home has a parrot and all he does is call my name, not sure whats up with that, although Sammy says all of our names a long with the kids names. There are days he drives us crazy. It's pretty funny. I am a laid back kind of guy. I'll lay at your feet and roll over.

I am looking for a wonderful loving home. I want to be loved a whole lot and I love attention. I am searching for a home where I am not a pet but a family member. Look at my handsome pictures, you will probably fall in love with me too. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Should you have any questions at all email Celeste my foster mom, she loves to talk and she is very willing to answer all your question.

Also video links to Youtube are ok and encouraged. However, inclusion of videos to the dog’s bios is at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors and Johnny based on quality, content, and favorable portrayal of the dachshund(s).

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Parker.....PA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
