BIO

Choo-Choo would make a great apartment dog and because she walks so good on a leash she'd be perfect for a walk in the park.

What a sweet standard girl!! We took her to an event last weekend where there was a lot of people around and she handled it like a champ. She’s good with kids, other dogs but don’t know about cats. She is just as happy being in a doggie bed while you want TV or sitting in your lap. She’s a mellow kinda girl, has to be the standard size. She has a beautiful coat and just the beginning of a few white hairs on her muzzle but don’t let that fool you she’s up for anything.

We’d love to see her have a fenced in yard. We think she’d be fine with other dogs or by herself. She rides great in a car in a crate or would be fine in the seat. We can’t say enough good things about this girl. Please consider adopting her if you are looking for a standard girl, you won’t be sorry and she’ll turn a lot of heads at the doggie parks or on your walks.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
