BIO

Update 8-19-14:

Cassie came from a MO puppy mill and is not only a survivor but she doesn't exhibit the same traits as other puppy mill dogs. She is not shy and loves everyone. I think she's making up for the time when no one loved her. This little lady is so FRIENDLY and never meets a stranger.  Such a great personality and gets along with all her foster dogs in the foster home. Basically no desire to be the alpha at all.  Loves to play and will sleep wherever you tell her to.

She is great to go out and potty but needs to be kept on a schedule.  She rides great in a car, does well on a leash and is not an excessive barker.

Cassie loves to be outside with the other fosters either playing or patrolling the perimeter of the fence line; gotta protect the  domain you know. But if you came into her domain be prepared to be licked to death by her and you can’t say that about too many dachshunds!

Bottom line, we are just not sure why she was given up cause this dog is just about perfect, as a matter of fact we've found no negative behaviors or issues with this girl.

Cassie is patiently waiting for the perfect home but I'm sure she won't last long so don't miss out on this little jewel, get your application in today!

Wow, this little lady is FRIENDLY, doesn’t know a stranger.  Great personality gets along with all the foster dogs in the foster home. Loves to play and will either sleep in a doggie bed or sleep in your lap when you are relaxing.  We are not sure why she was given up cause this dog is just about perfect, as a matter of fact we’ve found no negative behaviors or issues with this girl.

Cassie loves to be outside with the other fosters either playing or patrolling the perimeter of the fence line, gotta protect the  domain you know but if you came into her domain be prepared to be licked to death by her and you can’t say that about too many dachshunds. She’ll be going to the Nashville Pet Expo this coming weekend and then she’ll be headed to AL so if you see what you like and you want to make her yours I would strongly recommend putting in an application. You snooze you lose!

More about Cassie #2..AL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
