About SKIPPER...MA

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes
Skipper was given into rescue care when his owner became terminally ill. He is an 8 1/2 year old dachshund. He is great with kids and other dogs. He is a happy boy and house trained. He lets me know by coming to get me and wagging his tail that it is time to go out. He loves walks and attention and just wants to hang around and be happy. He gets very excited to go out or be patted or played with.

He was very well loved and has quite a collection of handmade sweaters from his mommy for cold weather and a favorite teddy bear in his bed.

He needs to lose some weight, but watching his diet and getting him out for a short walk a few times a day will make a world of difference very quickly.
Skipper is now being fostered in NJ
He is good with other dogs and children but has been an only child all of his life. Someone looking for a faithful friend and companion would find it all with Skipper. He will give you his all and ask only for a belly rub in return.

The fee to adopt Skipper is 200.00 plus $10. for his micro chipping.

More about SKIPPER...MA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
