Good day,

My name is Dewey. My foster mom calls me a cutie, I'd rather think of myself as handsome. I am gowing by leaps and bounds, I was recently at the vet and wieghed 5.8.

I am very busy and LOVE toys. I will play tug of war with you for a long time I love to have my belly rubbed and love snuggling at your shoulder with my head resting against yours. My foster mom calls me a snuggle bug.

My foster home had myself and 2 sisters and a brother. Two have been adopted to their forever home to wonderful families and my sister who is here will be leaving me soon to her forever home.

Now I am looking for my perfect home that will love me and of course spoil me.

I love it here but talk about busy. They have two dogs who play with me, and this fury thing called a cat, this thing is 3x my size. He doesn't mind me but I could care less about him.

You know how us puppies can be ,they have this bird that mimicks us, sounds just like us and the other dogs, he tells us from time to time we are bad dogs.

So you see I have been exposed to a lot of animals, oh and children they adore me, imagine that. I like them to.

With that being said I still want to find a special home for me. I am not house broken yet but use puppy pads very well and learning to go outside you just have to have some patience I will get it.

My criteria you have to feed me play with me and love me. I will do the same for you, excpet feed you.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
