Woof! – Umm, I mean Hello!I’ve lost my home again and even though I like my foster home, I really want a forever home that will accept me just as I am. Like most doxies, I love to sleep under blankets. When someone wakes me up too quickly I only think of defending myself. When I’m wide awake I would never consider hurting anyone. My foster mom told me I’m 11 years old, but I’m sure she’s wrong. I feel like a puppy and have the energy of one! I know I’m strong and healthy! Would you grant me my fondest wish and give me the forever home I crave? Does not like to be disturbed while under a blanket and could snap for that reason we say no children but he loves kids over 10 yrs.
Beaner is a owner surrender. His owner was injured and could no longer take care of him. Beaner is a wonderul, wonderful boy! He is very friendly and just loves everybody. He gets along very well with other dogs, cats and older kids. He loves to give kisses! He is crate trained and sleeps all night in his. He loves to go for car rides, and gets very excited at walk time. He does love his walks! He loves to play, his favorite game is tug of war. You would never tell he was a senior with his energy level! He outplays and outlasts all his foster brothers and sisters who are a lot younger than him! If you're looking for a fun loving, affectionate, beautiful boy, Beaner is the one for you!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
