WHERE LOCATED…… INDIANAPOLIS, IN

Peanut is a cute fluffy fellow. He loves to romp with his brothers Rascal and Snoop. He does great in a crate and goes potty outside. He isn’t really what you would call house trained just yet, but we are working on it and tends to be the most reliable of the three in this regard and will usually let you know he needs to go. He loves to be with his human and sleep in his/her arms. He also loves to cuddle with other furry friends. He is very social and loves everyone. His favorite thing to do is play outside, as long as there is not wet out there - not exactly fond of the rain. He is getting baths and nails done so he is getting used to that and we brush him so he is used to it.
The doctor figures he will probably be about 11-13 # at maturity. Peanut would love to have a home where someone is around during the day or gone only short periods of time, to help him potty train, and play with him. Since he is so young, he cannot hold his bladder too long. He also knows how to use potty pads. Please think about adopting this little man.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
