RESCUE #: 2013-8-31-01 BIO: Lilly is a sweet young lady who found herself homeless in South Carolina. Fortunately she was taken to an animal shelter where she received her vaccines and was spayed. The shelter contacted AADR and now Miss Lilly is ready for a new home. She is a beautiful deep red color with pretty dark eyes. She is slightly taller than average, but she is dachshund through and through. Lilly is crate trained, but has been well behaved, so has been allowed free run of the house. She walks well on a leash although she will occasionally stop and require a little encouragement to come along. She appears to be housebroken and sleeps quietly all night under her blanket. Lilly gets along well with other dogs, male and female, young and old. She hasn't been around cats or young children, but can be exposed to them if you need to know how she does. Lilly is very affectionate and eager to please. She loves to be with people.
If you are looking for a loving young lady to share fun and quiet times with, Lilly is your gal!
More about Lilly...MI
Good with Dogs
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
