Please help me find my forever home. My name is Wendy and I used to live in a puppy mill just making babies until someone rescued me. I am only about 3-4 years old. This was my last litter and I am to be fixed as soon as my milk is dried up. My foster mom Tammy says I am very sweet and love to lay on laps. I would do best in a home without stairs or very many as I am slightly afraid of them as I never had to deal with them before. Momma Tammy has helped me learn to go up but I am still afraid of the down part. I have some fear toward boys/men and I bark at them ferociously however I calm down with some love and treats. I love to run around in the back yard, even though I had to be taught that too, that it was okay to play. I am doing really well in my potty-ing and would love to show you what a love bug I can be. I am not sure of cats as they like to run away from me when I bark at them. But until I came here I had never seen one before! Please someone let me have the happy home I have always dreamed of.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
