BIO: Oscar and Meyer are the product of a divorce and no one could care for them so we were contracted to see if we would take them. We agreed. They are happy boys and bonded so we have to adopt them together. They have been together their whole lives. They both look out for each other and look for each other. They do very well on a leash but love a fenced yard and that’s what we want for their next home is a completely fenced yard so they can run and play.
They do well with kids 4 yrs and up, they love to cuddle but we don’t know about cats so we’d have to say “NO” to kitties.
If you are interested in them please contact the foster mom for more info or more pictures, remember we will not split so please do not ask.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.
We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.
To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
