BIO:

Rex is the happiest guy! He’s a lover of everyone…other dogs, people, even cats! Rex enjoys roaming outside in the fenced in yard. You can also find him napping in the floor or on the couch if you allow it. He absolutely loves getting his belly rubbed (along with any other attention you’re willing to give him)! He does well with walking on a leash and he is crate trained. He eats and sleeps in his crate. We leave his crate door open during the day and he sometimes goes in there to hang out. He would do well with other dogs or as an only dog. He’s a black and tan, long haired dapple and you may have noticed from the photos that he has one brown eye and one blue eye!

I can’t say enough positive things about Rex! He is a treasure and will make an amazing addition to someone’s family! Not to mention how gorgeous he is!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
