BIO

Hi, my name is Noah.  AADR saved me from a puppy mill in MO, where I lived in a cage all the time and didn’t have any human contact.  But, I was rescued and taken to vet and got the care I needed.  I will be 4 years old in July and am currently receiving much love and attention at my foster home in OH.  But, I ready to make the move to my forever home and be your pet!

I love to run in the fenced yard and chase my foster doxie brother.  We love to tease the dogs next door.  I have lots of energy and love to play.   Sometimes, I sneak into rooms and take socks and hide them in my crate.  I love my food and especially my snacks.  At night, I snuggle into my warm comfy bed or sometimes in my crate, if lots of humans are visiting (I feel safe in my crate).

I used to be very scared of all people but I am starting to trust my foster family.  They give me food and treats and we play outside.  Sometimes we snuggle w/soft blankies, I’m still a little scared but I am brave because I know they love me.   I still have potty accidents but as long as I stay on a schedule they don’t happen very often.  My brother takes me outside a lot.

I know I will make a great pet.  I would like to be in a home w/other pets and a fenced yard so I can run and play.  I haven’t been around many small children but I would probably just be scared for a little bit.  They are always telling me I am so sweet and cute.  I only bark when I am playing.

Thanks for taking time to read about me.  I hope you will consider giving me a forever home .

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Noah...MD

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
