"Ima" Red Neck Ima is a very loving, 3 year old little girl. She loves other dogs but prefers "human" attention. Alpha dogs intimidate her, but she likes having a doggie friend. Eating is her "hobby". Ima uses a doggie door to go in and out of my home into the fenced yard. She likes being outdoors but prefers being a "couch potato". She is not a barker, nor does she dig. She is not used to being around children. Ima will be a little shy when first meeting, but with treats and patience, she will be your unconditional friend. She is chipped by AVID on heartgard and will have her teeth cleaned before going to her new home. Out of State and Canidian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arranements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about IMA...MD
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
