BIO: Harold2 came from a shelter in northern AL where he was picked up as a stray. Harold2 was a little on the thin side so it’s hard to say how long he was fending for himself BUT he’s settle in very well as a spoiled and loved pet.
The pics are of Harold chillin but he also likes to help you in the yard when you are doing yard work or just relaxing out in the yard. He's a lap dog when you are watching TV or reading as well...he just wants to be and do what you are doing.
Harold2 likes to be where his family is and will do all he can to get there. He was in one foster home that had a fenced in yard and he learned to dig out of it but in the foster home he’s in now he has not tried that. He will also dart out a door if you have it open and don’t watch him, he only does this because he wants to go with you.
Harold2 is a very loving dog to his family but will not back down from another dogs if they appear to be aggressive.
The home we want for Harold2 needs to have another dog or two, home a lot or can take him with you and must have a fenced in yard. If you would like to know more about Harold please contact his foster mom. Until then he’ll be waiting for YOU.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.
We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.
To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
