BIO:

This is Bonnie. She is a one year old dachshund who used to be part of a duo called Bonnie and Clyde. Now it’s just Bonnie, out on her own looking for a great home. The previous owners dumped her and her brother in a shelter. For the life of us we cannot figure out why! This girl is just the sweetest thing you will ever meet. Not 24 hours in our home and Dad wanted to know if we could keep her! She seems to be house trained, going right to the door when she needs to. She loves to run in the fenced yard and take naps in the sun with her new little brother. She gets along with all the other guys in the house, including a large lab. She rough houses with our 8 month old dachshund but settles down before he does. She loves to be asked to sleep in the big bed, snuggles right up against you. If you are looking for a great girl with soulful eyes this is her. Someone is going to be very lucky to bring her into their home. She is a keeper!

More about Bonnie...NY

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
