BIO:

Bandit loves to play ball will YOU play with him?

He is great with cats and any size dog once they get a few minutes together.  He all of a sudden decided he would use the puppy pads when he doesnt want to go out...but still goes outside too, which he even goes out by himself using the doggy door.   He has also decided to be a typical dachshund and tear up the toys and get the stuffing out :)  Someone is going be so lucky to get him... He is smart and so loving!

Bandit is super cute! He is doing really good being house trained, but still has accidents if not taking out regularly. He does good in a crate, but not for long hours.  Bandit is very energetic and loves to play.  He loves his toys and is not destructive.  He does great with other dogs.  He also would do great with older children who will play and run with him.  He loves to ride in car. Most of all... He loves to snuggle!  He loves sharing his foster parents’ bed, either on your arm or deep under the covers at your feet.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
