BIO:  Hi, my name is Biscuit! I lost my home because I kept getting out of the fenced-in yard and attacking and killing the chickens at my home. Gee, I couldn’t help it! They are prey and I’m bred to hunt down prey and kill it. If you don’t have chickens, cats or any type of rodent, then I’m the man for you!

If you get ready to sit in a chair or on a couch, I’m there in an instant to climb in your lap to be your lap buddy.  If you are where I can’t get in your lap, then I’m happy to lay beside you in a doggie bed. And, I will follow you from room to room just to be as close to you as I can get.

I will sleep all night in a doggie bed near your bed or I’ll sleep on the couch, my foster mom kinda lets me decide what I want to do.

I have a doggie door now but would be fine in a crate or confined to a  room till you know you could trust me, I’m easy to get along with.

I walk great on a leash but my foster mom and dad say they’d really like me to have a fenced yard to roam in and another dog to keep me company when you have to leave me. If you fit this bill, please put in an application and give me a lasting, forever home, which is my biggest wish.

Oh, I forgot to mention, when they did my dental I lost a LOT of teeth but my foster mom just softens my food and I eat it just fine so please don't let that stop you from giving me a home, YOUR home.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of  CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we cannot adopt to anyone in that state either.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
