BIO:

My name is Winston.   I was taken in by AADR after being found wondering a Texas park with two other doxies.   I am friendly, have no behavioral problems, and get along with my foster mom and her doxies.   I am house broken, use the doggie door and she says I have a gentle temperament. I am physically in good health.   My favorite hangout is a warm lap or bed to cuddle in.   My foster mom says I’m not much of a barker except when people come knocking at the door.  I love company- it’s a new lap to sit on.  I’m always friendly and polite.  Although I am a “finicky” eater- I have no food aggressions (or other aggressive/behavior problems).   Please help me find my Forever Home.  I will give you lots of love and affection and be your best friend and companion.

More about Winston 2...LA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
