BIO: MEET Howie 2
Please meet Howie our gentle dachshund, he is 10 yrs. old but don’t let that fool you he acts younger than his age. He came to AADR when his family decided that they no longer had time for him. Howie has been in 2 different homes in his life and both times the family didn’t have time for him and give him up. Howie is settling into his new foster home and learning how to be a dachshund (he is having a great time). He is getting to know my surroundings with the fenced in yard and the doggie door which he never had, lying in the sun or watching the squirrels in the yard. Howie is working on sit, stay and in just a couple of weeks Howie is now crate trained, loves being outside, will keep anyone busy throwing his toy with him, house trained and a great dachshund to have. This great dachchund is now looking for his Furever home that will love him, play with him and have him Furever. Howie gets along with the other dachshunds in the home and also gets along with the cats.
If you are looking for a gentle loving dachshund for your home please look at Howie.
If you feel you can give Howie the home he so deserves please fill out an adoption application.
More about Howie 2..AR
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
