BIO:
As you can see from the pictures, Misty is a beautiful miniature dachshund who is a breeder/owner surrender. She is a chocolate brown and white piebald and looks to have been color coordinated with her foster sister, who she “took to” immediately. Misty is a relatively “low maintenance” little lady, not always true with beautiful women!
Misty was shy upon arrival to new foster home, but she quickly warmed up and seems much less timid after just two weeks. She is a true love bug and follows me like a little shadow, thus she will be terrific company and comfort for some lucky person. She likes to snuggle, be held and sleep touching her human. She sleeps all night most of the time, occasionally has to go out during the night but settles right down again. Her cue to go out is restlessness. Misty has no special dietary needs, but gets an upset stomach with table food.
In terms of behavior, Misty knows her name and comes when called. I have seen no food or other aggression and she is not destructive. She quickly loved foster mom’s grandchildren ages 8-12. Misty is a good watchdog and will alert mom of someone outside. She is not an excessive barker. She is calm and likes to rest on the back of the sofa with the blinds up to look out the window with her foster sister. Misty may be seven, but she is playful and has plenty of perk in her step.
Misty will do her little “happy dance” with her foster sister when foster mom goes out and comes back. One has to smile with happy dancing and kisses everyday! As loving as Misty is, she has the capability of CHANGING the life of someone who needs companionship and company.
