BIO:

Temperament/personality: Blink is a gorgeous, shiny, midnight black sweetie. He is quiet and thoughtful, gentle and playful. He is curious about his world and loves to go on solo adventures.  At this age, much of his time is spent sleeping and eating.  He loves to be wrapped in a pile with his litter mates. He is affectionate and loves to be cuddled.  His personality has yet to emerge because he’s so young.

History:   Blink is one of ten adorable puppies born to Sparkle, a lovely, gentle and sweet tempered black and tan dachshund mix who was found as a stray. The daddy is of unknown breed.

Training:  Too young to train.  He’s trained to use a potty pad while in foster care.

Best environment:  A loving home with other dogs or as an only pup.  He’ll adjust to any caring environment.  He needs someone who has the patience and experience to train him how to be a well-behaved dog and he, in turn, will be a loyal companion who will warm your heart…and your lap.

More about Blink..PA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
