BIO: 

Holly Noelie, is such a happy girl.  She was one of 9 breeder dachshunds that we took in when her owner died.  She spent her whole life outside so she’s very happy to be inside and have a bed of her own.  She loves her humans and is great with other dogs as well.  Holly craves attention and loves to cuddle.  Being with her humans is very important to her, she likes to be where you are.   Her vibrant personality and love of children would make her perfect for any home.   

She’s always been around other dogs so a companion may help as well.  She’s not much of a barker, but lets you know when it’s time to eat.  She does love her food.    She is crate trained, but is only crated when no one is home.  At night she sleeps on her doggie bed with her blanket. 

She deserves a home where she’ll be treated like a queen for the rest of her life.  Is that you?  Please consider Holly, she would make a wonderful addition to any family.

We will not adopt into the state of  CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we can not adopt to anyone in that state either.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
