Angel 9 was also one of the NC breeder dogs that we took in when her owner died and her home went into foreclosure.  Her last wish was that all her dogs would find lasting, loving forever homes. We stepped in and are attempting to do that with your help. They all needed dentals badly, which Angel got and has lost most of her teeth. That does not stop her from enjoying her food.

She does need to be kept on a schedule for potty training but loves to spend hours out sunning herself on the front porch. These dogs all lived outside in pens and dog houses so for them to have a doggie bed, a soft lap, or a couch is a dream come true.

We do feel that Angel will benefit from another dachshund or two to cuddle up with. She likes to spend her time either on a couch or doggie bed or loves to be outside if you are out in the fencerd-in yard.

Angel does take pills for her enlarged heart and that is why she is special needs but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying the life that she’s just acquired. Please consider adopting her and giving her a lasting forever home.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
