BIO:

Prissy 2 came from a home where they said she snapped at the grandchild but she stayed for a couple days with one of our foster homes that had 5 year olds over and she was fine with them, so we are under the assumption that the child did something to her to force her to snap but with that in mind, no children under 10 years old that do not know how to treat a small dog.

Prissy is a sweet, sweet girl and if there is a lap around she wants to be in it and will beg to get there. We think she was also fed from the table which we have stopped because she is overweight and needs to lose 3-4 pounds.

Prissy is housetrained, crate trained and walks well on a leash; how a family could let this perfect little girl go is beyond us, but their loss is YOUR gain. You will not regret adopting this sweet little girl, apply today.

We will not adopt into the state of  CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we can not adopt to anyone in that state either.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
