Annie is completely out of her shell now and LOVES belly rubs and is housebroken. Please give her a home!!
ANNIE came from a puppymill and is learning to be a dog. Unlike many mill dogs, she loves to be held and loved on. She also likes to sleep in the big bed cuddled up next to her favorite human. She is trained to puppypad, but will also go potty outside if taken out on a regular schedule. She is good with cats, but we would not recommend kids under 8yrs. She loves food and like many puppymill dogs should be given extra attention at feeding time to prevent food aggression. Annie had bladder stones when we she came into rescue. We've had her completely vetted; however she will require monitoring for future bladder stones. Annie is a delight and deserves a great home. Please consider giving her a wonderful home with a fenced in yard so she can wander in the green grass and enjoy the sunshine.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about ANNIE

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
