BIO: Please meet Max, our gentle older dachshund. He is settling into his foster home and learning the doggie door. He is getting to know the surroundings just within a couple of days with his blindness. We don’t know much about Max’s past but he was rescued from a hoarder and we know there is a great Furever home for him. I don’t know how long Max has been living with his blindness from cataracts but he is doing great. Max gets along with the other dachshunds in his foster home and also gets along with the cats. Max is a great big love bug, he loves to cuddle, loves his bed & blanket or settles in the big bed if you let him, and is crate trained. If you are looking to add a gentle dachshund to your home, Max is the one!
If you feel you can give Max the home he so deserves, please fill out an adoption application.
More about Max 7...TN
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
