BIO:

Bandit came to us from a puppymill in East TN where he was surrendered to a shelter and they contracted us to take him along with two other dachshunds.

Bandit was very scared and unsocialzed when he came to us, he still has a way to go before he’ll be completely trusting but each day he gets a little better.

He is a little hand shy but loves to follow you around the house and is always happy to see you.

Bandit gets along with all dogs, male and female and even likes to play a little. When he came to us he was fairly matted so we had to cut his fur down to help his fur to grow back in and with the better food we feel it’ll look better too.

Bandit will need to be kept on a tight schedule for potty-training and crated at night until he completely understands the concept of housebroken.

If you are interested in a wire and willing to give Bandit the time to adjust to being a pet rather than a breeder dog than you’ll have yourself the best dog ever. If you have more questions please contract his foster mom and she’ll be happy to answer any question. Remember Bandit has many good years left and will give you many years of  devotion.

More about Bandit...NH

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
