BIO:

Ray is a VERY handsome young man with a super temperament and a fun-loving spirit! He's not yet 6 months old and already weighs 10 lbs, so we expect him to be a standard boy when fully grown. Ray loves to play, run, wrestle, chase chipmunks,  and  then play some more!  So, a fenced yard and a play buddy with plenty of energy (male or female) would be make the best home for him. Ray is a happy boy that gets along with everybody and has learned the "potty outside" routine without a hitch. His new family should plan to continue enforcing his  good behavior--Ray is a gentle soul and does not ever need scolding. Ray would also benefit from an obedience class or two where he can learn basic commands and improve leash walking skills.

Get your applications in ASAP--Ray will not last long! If you have questions or want additional pictures, email his foster mom.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
