BEING FOSTERED IN MIDDLE TN

Penny Lynn was surrendered by her family in AL for personal reasons not because of anything that Penny Lynn did. Penny Lynn was not well socialized by her old family there for she has fear bite issues. Until she gets used to you she could bite you in fear. The other family owned her from the time she was 6 weeks old. For this reason we have to say "no children". She seemed to perfer my husband but is now used to me too but still perfers him. When he leaves she will run in circles for a while probably anxious about him leaving. She does seem to be getting better about this as she gets used to me. We think it would be best for her to go to a home where someone is home all the time and willing to get her socialized. Other than that Penny Lynn is as sweet as can be and loves sleeping in the big bed or helping you watch sports on TV. Please give Penny Lynn the home she so richly deserves.
Out of State and Canidian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arranements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
