Temperament/personality:  Wilber is one of five pups born to her mother Charlotte.  He’s soft, gentle, has been known to squeal once and while and is oh so cuddly.  He very much fits the personality of Wilber in the well-known story Charlotte’s Web.

History: Wilber’s mom Charlotte was found wandering roadside in Dickson, TN.  She was brought to the local rescue who in turn contacted AADR.  We took her to our vet and determined she was pregnant.  She stayed at our vet for three weeks until she delivered her pups at which point she was enthusiastically welcomed to her foster home.

Training:  Wilber is young and will need to be trained how to sit, stay and any other behaviors the adopting household views as important.

Best environment:  A loving home with humans who have experience with training a puppy and who committed to nurturing this young life and to provide an environment where she can exercise and learn all that the world has to offer him.

Please contact the foster home at the email address listed above if you have any questions about this dog.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. An additional fee of $35 is required for a Health Certificate if the dog is transported by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. Thank you for your interest in All American Dachshund Rescue.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about WILBER...GA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
