Take a look at this stunning little love bug! Maggie is a beautiful little girl that is a blank slate that is ready for her new family to teach her how to be a well behaved young lady. She can go to her new home after his 2nd set of puppy boosters at the end of May. AADR rescued Maggie and her siblings from a backyard breeder and we know the parents were about 11-12 pounds, so she should be a similar size when fully grown. Maggie is in foster care with two brothers and one sister. Maggie is fun-loving and adventurous and quick to give puppy love! She has some scabs on her head from being infested with fleas, but is healing nicely. She's already doing well and hair is beginning to grow back---no permanent condition.

Maggie is both too small and too young to be spayed, so whomever adopts her must sign a neuter agreement and pay a $75 deposit in addition to the adoption fee. The deposit will be returned when she is spayed. Based on your vet's recommendations, she may have to wait until he's 4-6 months old or a certain weight. If you have any questions or want more pictures, email her foster mom.  Get your applications in ASAP--Maggie will not last long!

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You can pick up the dog or make arrangements for transport via paid ground transport of via volunteer transport. A $35 fee for a veterinarian-issued health certificate is required for ground transport.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in  adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about MAGGIE...NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
