BIO:  Matilda was dumped in a neighborhood in Nashville, TN and we were asked if we could find a place in our rescue for her and find her a forever home.

We think she was someone’s pet at one time because she was well cared for. Possibly a family that could no longer care for her or an older persons dog that had either died or was put in a nursing home. The good Samaritan that found her ran ads in the paper and tried to find the owner to no avail.

Matilda is very friendly, doesn’t know a stranger and would make a great companion for anyone wanting a great family dog.

We think she’d do great as an only dog or one other dog. She does like her food so she would need to be kept on a strict amount of food intake. She loves to sleep in your lap while you are chillin out. She loves a fenced in yard and would be fine either crated or left loose in your house while you work or run errands.

There was a fatty growth on her back that we had removed but was only a fatty growth.

This little girl is friendly, housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained what more could you ask for?

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

More about MATILDA 2...MA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
