BIO:

Hey mom’s and dad’s do you want an instant family of dachshunds? Well here you go Bonnie and Clyde are ready and waiting for you to take them home! These two were an owner surrender when the owner had a life changing event that she could not take them with her. Lucky for them she contacted us and we agreed to take them in and find them a wonderful forever home.

Bonnie is a little more shy when you first meet her than Clyde is and I’d like to be able to meet the adopter half way so Bonnie would not go through many hands on her way to her forever home. Clyde can be a little skiddish but not as bad as Bonnie. If you give them time to come to you and settle in they are both very loving and love to be in your lap or beside you when seated. They came from a home with a 3 yr old child and are great with kids just give them space at first. They are 110% housetrained and will go in my gated kitchen each night about 7-8pm(they ask to go in there to go to bed)and they don’t say a peep until 7-7:30am the next morning with no accidents. They will let me know when they want out of the kitchen. They would be fine gated or crated while you were at work together or left to be loose in the house.  Once in a while they’ll have a little spat but it doesn’t amount to anything.

They would love a fenced in yard because they love to be outside in nice weather.  They are not barkers unless the other dogs start then t they will join in but will not start it unless they are faced with a stranger. We think they would need to be socialized more to help them get over their fear of strangers.

These two cute precious babies won’t last long so you better hurry and get you application in before they are gone.

Ideal home: fenced in yard. Can gate or crate day or night but NOT both, adopt within surrounding states of TN or willing to drive to get them within 4-6 hours of foster home.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

More about Bonnie and Clyde..AL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
