BIO:  Meet Sweet Georgia Brown

Ms. Georgia Brown was rescued by a good Samaritan off a VERY BUSY interstate. She was running alone in the emergency lane. She was scared, but so happy to see her rescuer!! They decided it was best for Sweet Georgia Brown to come into our system & let us find her the forever home she deserves.

Georgia Brown is a little love bug! Her favorite thing to do in the entire world is snuggle & be with her people. Georgia Brown is not a picky little girl and doesn’t really care whose lap she is in just as long as it is someone’s! She is GREAT with kids and will give them kisses as long as they will let her. She totally ignores the cats in her foster home. Great with her fur-foster brothers & sisters. Walks great on a leash. Completely potty trained to a doggie door (no accidents in her foster home). Rides great in a car.

Georgia Brown does have a little bit of separation anxiety. It is just a mild case meaning if she can’t see you she will whine until she can be by your side. However a quick NO to her & she will stop. She can also jump a baby gate. She doesn’t like being in the fenced in area alone so actually she would be best if she was leash walked daily. Georgia Brown’s ideal home would be someone that could spend their days with her or take them with her.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

More about GEORGIA BROWN...NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
