BIO:

Hershey 3 was saved from a backyard breeder by an AADR member. We are so happy to prevent Hershey from a life of a breeder or from being sold to a family that can’t or won’t care for him well and love him for a lifetime! As you can see from his pictures, Hershey is the most adorable little guy! He’s well socialized and loves his people and is exploring his new world like a brave little doxie! He’s just a blank slate that is ready for his forever family to train him to be a well behaved little gentleman and spoil him rotten!

Since Hershey is too small and too young, he must be adopted with a neuter agreement and a $75 deposit that will be returned to you when proof of neuter is provided. Your vet may recommend he wait until he’s 4-6 months old or at a minimum weight before he is neutered.  If you have questions, just email his foster mom!  smburmei@comcast.net

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

More about Hershey 3...GA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
