BIO:
Howie is such a lovey boy. He is so soft and velvety, too! Howie is a very polite boy; he will wait his turn to eat and does not bully. He really likes his crate, so I have him some food and water in there for him. He loves to go for walks. He pulls at first, then mellows out soon afterwards (we are working on the pulling).
Howie does not have food aggression of any sort. You can take away food from him at all times. He loves to cuddle with you on the couch! He will tell you when he needs to go potty. He is such a wonderful boy! He loves to follow you around wherever you go. He is an explorer and may also bolt out of the door; recommended that he lives in a home that has a fully fenced yard, which I do not have at the moment.
We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.
More about Howie...CA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
