BIO:  Meet Destiny

Destiny came into rescue and was found as a stray.

Destiny is a sweet, sweet girl that has a tail that never quits wagging! Her favorite pastime is playing & de-stuffing her toys. She loves playing with her foster sister as much as her foster sister will let her. She is completely housebroken to a doggie door and has not had ANY accidents in her foster home. (if you do not have a doggie door you will have to work with her on her potty cues). She LOVES playing in the yard so a fence would be best for her. Destiny prefers her foster mom over her foster dad.

Destiny is great with kids. She is NOT good with cats & will try to chase them all day long. Destiny will need a special, patient home. She was not introduced to much in her first formative weeks of life therefore she is nervous in new situations.  She will take a week or two to warm up to her new family, but once she knows she can trust you be prepared to be covered in kisses!! She is a KISSER!

If you feel that you can provide that special home that Destiny needs please fill out an adoption application.

More about Destiny...MD

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
