BIO:

Cinnamon came to us from a shelter in KY where she was turned in by her owner cause they had too many dogs. She was terrified at the shelter and was snappy so they called us to take her.

When we got her home we just allowed her to be her and she soon came around and realized there was nothing to be afraid of.

She is housebroken to a doggie door and is also crate trained.

We don’t think she’d do well with children and we don’t know about cats. She is fine with the other dogs here in the foster home seems to prefer the foster dad over mom.

She has longer legs than most dachshunds so we consider her poorly bred but that doesn’t take away from her wonderful personality.

If you’d like to know more about Cinnamon then please e mail her foster home.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
