King is probably the most laid back, non aggressive dog that’s come through the doors of AADR in a very long time. He was a MO puppymill dog that they threw away because they didn’t want him any longer. If we would not have taken him they would have shot him and what a waste of a precious dog that would have been.

All King wants to do is lay in your lap and look at you with his love-sick eyes. What better way to spend your evenings after a long hard day at work is to have a dog like King that all he wants to do is gaze up at you and lick your hand in thanks for saving him.

We think a home best for King would be one with no children not that he would be ugly with them but he’s never been around them so they may make him nervous. We do want a fenced in yard and a doggie door would be a plus. He is such a gentleman and will go out and do his business and come back in the doggie door no problem. If no doggie dog you just have to watch for his sign that he needed to go out or put him on a schedule so he knows he has to go to the door or ask you when he has to go. He would pick up on asking to go out no problem and soft treats would be great to teach him that.

He is completely crate trained and happy to go in a crate when you have to go out to work or shopping.

King is just an easy dog to keep, love and have…what more can you ask for.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about KING...MA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
