BIO

Elvis is a playful pup that loves to hang with his brothers and sisters.  He started ‘singing’ at a very early age…especially in his sleep or while he was nursing.  Elvis and Presley are often found sleeping wrapped up in each other.  Elvis is adventurous and loves to climb on the play-scapes we make for the puppies.  He’s confident and like all Dachshunds, loves meal time and play time.

Elvis’ mom was dropped off at a shelter the day she gave birth.  AADR rescued the mom and pups the next day and took them directly to their foster home.  Elvis is part of the litter that includes Elvis, Presley, Lady, Tramp, Cagnie and Lacie.

Elvis is young and will need to be trained how to sit, stay and any other behaviors the adopting household views as important.

A loving home with humans who have experience with training a puppy and who committed to nurturing this young life and to provide an environment where he can exercise and learn all the world has to offer him.

More about Elvis...TN

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
