MAYA'S adoption fee is 150.00+10.00(chip fee) and she is being fostered in NC. Foster mom's e mail is KSioui@hotmail.com if you'd like more information on this precious little girl. She is spayed and UTD on all shots, heartworm neg. and on Interceptor and frontline.
MAYA, this dog is from Gaffney, SC. We decided to call her Maya, because Roxie didn't really seem to suit her.
She is barely a year old and weighs about 20 pounds. She is a good size, small enough to pick up easily and big enough that you won't trip on her. She may be a pug/beagle mix with some dachshund, chihuahua, and corgi mixed in. She is definitely one of a kind. She has a beautiful soft golden coat, a brownish pink nose, pretty gold eyes, and a cute underbite. Maya is very friendly with people and other dogs, both large and small. She hasn't been close to any cats, but tries to chase them when she sees them on our walks. She is smart and eager to please. Her housebreaking is going well. She goes to the door when she needs to go out. She barks when someone comes to the door and when I get home from work, but is otherwise quiet. She sleeps peacefully in her crate all night. Maya is a sweet and unique little girl who will be a great companion.
Out of State and Canidian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arranements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
