BIO:

If you are looking for a professional cuddler, look no further!  Tanner is the guy!  He has such a sweet personality and loves to snuggle and cuddle.  His favorite position is on his back.  He is pretty low maintenance, doesn’t bark much, great on a leash (loves to go on walks) does well with other dogs and sleeps all night in the big bed.  He is a beautiful little guy and after a while you don’t even realize that he is missing his ears.  Unfortunately Tanner had a pretty rough life before coming to AADR.  He somehow lost his ears in a possible attack by another dog.  He will make such a great companion for someone.  He wants you to be pleased and proud of him.  He eagerly welcomes you when you come home and rolls over directly to his back to get his little tummy rubbed.

More about Tanner...VA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
