Scarlet Rose is her name although her cover name is Baby Cakes! What a sweet girl she is. She loves to snuggle on the sofa or in bed. She loves to have her belly rubbed and to just be pet. If you stop petting her she will keep nudging at you till you start up again. She had a rough past. Baby Cakes was picked up as a stray and was very sick. She was pregnant and could not deliver her pups. Consequently, the pups passed and Baby Cakes was pretty sick. The wonderful SPCA staff fixed her up good and now she’s a happy girl again. She loves to run around outside and lay in the sun. She is a digger and likes to follow her nose. Baby Cakes is reserved when she first meets people. She likes to take her time getting to know you but once she does she is a love bug. If you have any questions about this precious girl just let me know. I would love to tell you more bout her.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
