BIO:

CoCo-Mo is sweet girl who was left at an animal shelter when her elderly owner could no longer care for her.  She is a little shy at first, but once she checks you out she is very friendly.  She is curious and likes to keep an eye on what is going on.  She walks well on a leash and enjoys strolls around the neighborhood.  CoCo-Mo runs eagerly into her crate at bedtime and sleeps quietly all night.  She would be just as happy sleeping with her people.  She is doing very well with her house training.  If she is unable to get outside she will use a pee pad.  CoCo-Mo gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing and then snuggling up in a dog bed with her friends.  She also enjoys sitting in a lap.  CoCo-Mo is not used to being around young children, but is fine with older children who understand that she sometimes needs her space.

If you are looking for a new friend who is as pretty as she is sweet then CoCo-Mo is the girl for you.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
